YOU ARE INVITED to the Friendship Community House Spring Garden Planting Party. We will begin on April 19 at 6 a.m. If you don't wake up that early, don't worry! We we will be working for most of the day. So bring your sunscreen and your straw hat, and let's get creative! Our plan is to create an entire garden from scratch in the middle yard (between the two houses.) The garden will be complete with vegetables, stones, roses, and grapevines. There will also be a flower garden and an herb garden in the front of the house. The garden will be a beautiful addition to the neighborhood and allow us to meet new friends as we give away the produce this summer. 

Below is a list of things we will need. You may purchase them in advance or bring them with you on that day. You need not purchase anything in order to take part. Just bring yourself. Also, if you would like to help, but cannot attend the party, feel free to make a donation. God bless you richly for your generosity!

SPRING/SUMMER GARDEN SHOPPING LIST:
1. DIRT can be bought by the bag cheap (about $2 a bag) We don't need anything fancy, but we do need a lot of dirt as our yard dirt is terrible for gardening.)
2. SEEDLINGS instead of seeds will assure that every space is used efficiently. It is also quicker. We look forward to cucumbers, okra, cantalope, watermelon, corn, snap beans, bell peppers, andsuch.
3. HERB SEEDLINGS for our herb garden in the front of the house. We are hoping for parsley, onions, green onions, garlic, mint, basil, and such.
4. LATTICE two standard pieces. White plastic would last longer.
5. ROSE BUSHES or rose bush roots. We need four to complete our rose bush lattice backing.
6. STEPPING STONES will help us create a walkway and a design in the center of the garden.
